IVANKA unveils world's first 'concrete' ready-to-wear

 

IVANKA 'concrete house of fashion' debuted at Tranoï during Paris Fashion Week in September 2012 with their very first ready-to-wear and accessories collection named Concrete Genezis. The striking pieces of wearables, bags and jewelries are progressive in design yet totally wearable and designed for everyday use.

Studio IVANKA has developed a new textile-innovation based on the aesthetic qualities of concrete: using this textile, they have created on a clothing collection that draws a line from a raw masculine look to finer classic femininity. Visualizing today’s modern urban woman and building on the dualism of her fragility and power that can be found in all women, the goal is to illustrate that delicate contrast and cross-gender phenomena through different shapes and materials, such as the contrast between hard concrete and soft textiles or classic shapes in modern context.

 

The clothes are complemented with a capsule collection of clutch bags where real high performance concrete meets leather: beginning with a simply geometric rectangular model - the 'archetype' of a block of beton - made almost entirely out of monolith concrete, the evolution of the collection explores the effects produced by alternating the ratio between concrete and leather. The Organ Jewelry collection adds a final touch: designed by IVANKA Studio the concrete pendants resemble the five vital organs.
