The penultimate day of the ongoing Canadian fashion fest ‘Toronto Fashion Week’ began with a meticulously organized rugged parade of low-slung tight fitting jeans by the Vancouver-based denim label Triarchy.

Created by designer siblings, Adam, Mark and Ania Taubenfligel, the denim collection featured tie-dyed, ombre, studded and candy-wrapper metallic jeans in pink, bronze, grey, black and blue shades.

The second in line was the Toronto-based designer Rachel Sin’s spring/summer 2013 retro glam collection. Inspired by 1950’s architectural shapes, the line featured peplum tops, skirts, leggings and tailored blazers with contrasting lapels in a rich colour palette of coral, blue, beige and black.

Montreal’s outerwear company Soia & Kyo presented a range of youthful collection made of battered leather and suede, created by designer Ilan Elfassy. The line includes motorcycle jackets, trenches, windbreakers and nylon anoraks in delightful hues of burgundy, cobalt and violet.

Veteran designer Arthur Mendonca, who celebrated the 10th anniversary of his apparel line this year, showcased an Oriental-inspired range infused with Japanese Origami details. The collection featured a variety of kimono coats and dresses, mandarin collar blouses and pant suits in delicious hues of lemon, salmon, aubergine, and powder and electric blue.
