Hari Anand, Kochi based fashion designer has launched "The Kara" series of designs. The launch happened at the recently concluded Kingfisher Premium Coimbatore Fashion Week 2012 at Coimbatore. The show was opened by Hari Anand, with his collection.

Kara is the aesthetic way to represent dominance of a garment. In other words "kara" means border. It brings in grace, whimsicality, and softness and feel of an edge. Hari Anand believes simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.

Hari Anand crafted his line this time with lot of detailing and focus including the foot wear. This is the first attempt of his kind in India to bring down a classy matching footwear to the garment embellished in the same manner. He has done a lot of R&D for this work to get the feel and the harmony. The collections are of pure Indian garments with a modern touch.

Hari Anand said: "The border of a garment is its life. I have given the traditional kara a modern twist by using ribbons and Swarovski crystals."

The showstoppers of the show were former Mr. India-actor Ganesh Venkataraman, and Miss India Earth 2008 and actress Tanvi Vyas. They made a grand entry as they waltzed on to the ramp. Ganesh Venkataraman, who was dressed in a sherwani and white dhoti, with a thick kasavu border, said: "Hari Anand's clothes are comfortable and sophisticated at the same time."

About Hari Anand: Hari Anand, based from Kochi has a long history in fashion. He ventured into the fashion world in the year 1992 when he opened "Glada", the first designer boutique in Kochi to show cases all his collections.
