Jan '13
The eighth edition of California’s forthcoming annual fashion revelry Fashion Week El Paseo, scheduled to take place at Palm Desert from 15th to 23rd March 2013, will once again showcase collections created not only by the west coast-based designers but also from the alumni of the twin fashion-based American reality television programs ‘Project Runway’ and ‘Project Runway: All Stars’, aired on Lifetime Television channel.

Organized by Palm Springs Life magazine, the event will be opened by the luxury American specialty store Saks Fifth Avenue showcasing its premium spring 2013 women and men’s clothing lines.

Other names like the New York based fashion label Houghton, Lebanon born and Paris raised independent couturier Gilbert A Chagoury and Project Runway alumnus and couture fashion designer of Greek and Italian descent Michael Costello will feature their latest creations at the event.

Other than innovative catwalk presentations by seasoned designers, the fashion week will also include a special runway show featuring ensembles designed by top graduating students from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.

However, the major highlight of this year’s Fashion Week El Paseo would be a unique event showcasing a special couture extravaganza meant only for the cute four-legged canine creatures loved by everybody.

Hosted by supermodels Heidi Klum and Rachael Weingart, Project Runway contestants compete with each other to create the best of clothes with limited materials and theme in a restricted timeframe.

First premiered on January 5, 2012, a sidequel of Project Runway, ‘Project Runway: All Stars’ features 13 designers from all the seasons of Project Runway (1 to 8) with a new host, mentor and set of judges.
