Himalayan ranges dominate day 2 of Paris Menswear FW

The icy snowy peaks of the breathtakingly beautiful Himalayan ranges dominated the French fashion mogul Louis Vuitton’s spectacular show on the second day of the ongoing international men’s fashion revelry Paris Menswear Fashion Week.

Designed under the guidance of the label’s style director Kim Jones, the world’s best selling label’s fall-winter 2013/14 collection was heavily inspired by the flora and fauna of Himalayas.

Decorated with plenty of cute cartoonish animal prints by English visual artists Jake and Dinos Chapman, the range included sweaters, dressing gowns, laser cut mink jackets, furry overcoats as well as snow leopard motif punched double breasted coats.

Bangkok-born American fashion designer presented the latest ensembles of his clothing line ‘3.1 Phillip Lim’. Stressing heavily on biker-style looks, the collection featured cable-imprinted leather jackets seasoned with Nordic Fair Isle patterns as well as a variety of hand-painted sporty outfits in black.

The Amsterdam-based fashion label Viktor & Rolf Monsieur, by designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, showcased an outerwear-dominated clothing extravaganza. Made with traditional and techno fabrics, the line was spiced up with blown-up prints of eyeglasses, shoes and giant letters.

Japanese fashion designer and technology-driven clothing specialist Issey Miyake based his innovatively tailored urban wear collection on silvered and gilded emergency blankets, where heat-retaining films were used as coat linings. The ergonomic yet effective line is made of polyester, paper and traditional Japanese woven fabrics.
