The seventh GREENshowroom season was a great success. From 15 to 17 January, concurrently with the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, 27 labels presented their sustainable luxury products from the worlds of fashion, accessories, beauty and lifestyle in the suites of Hotel Adlon Kempinski.

“We are delighted with the continued growth of visitor interest in the GREENshowroom and the high quality of our international exhibitors. This season, they once again showed just how glamorous green fashion can be”, said Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt, summarising the results of the event. Together with the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin, GREENshowroom constitutes Europe’s most important platform for sustainable fashion with 98 brands from 21 nations (July 2012: 83 brands from 18 countries).

International labels including Animaná (Argentina), Leibschneider (Germany), My Biotiful Bag (France), Royal Blush by Jana Keller (Switzerland) and SeeMe (The Netherlands) had already presented their high-fashion collections at previous editions of the GREENshowroom. Additionally, newcomers, such as 6 Miles Horizon (Poland), Kobleder (Austria) and Stefanie Masotto (Italy), ensured international growth.

Designer Elsien Gringhuis, who won the Fair Luxury Award 2013 of the Dutch Fashion Foundation with her label of the same name, was also enthusiastic about the GREENshowroom: “We like the location and felt really at home there. GREENshowroom is a great high-fashion platform and visitors to the show have a serious interest in the history behind the label.”

International labels value Germany’s green market

The significance of Berlin as an important international centre for the green-fashion sector was underscored by the increasing number of foreign labels taking part. Thus, the GREENshowroom also proved to be the right fashion platform for India’s Cocccon label: “I exhibited here for the first time last summer and was immediately able to take a big order. That was almost like winning the lottery. Now, I am back for the second time and am once again very pleased – good customers, a good press and lots of nice people”, reports designer Chandra Prakash Jha.

Also extremely pleased are the two GREENshowroom founders, Magdalena Schaffrin and Jana Keller, who can look back over another highly successful season: “The continuing great response to this season’s GREENshowroom, the large number of returning exhibitors and the numerous new registrations indicate that our concept is right on target.”

Salonshow delights trade visitors and celebrities

Trade visitors, representatives of the press and invited guests had the opportunity to see selected creations by international designers on the catwalk at the exclusive Salonshow. The following labels struck a note with the audience of the GREENshowroom Salonshow with their young creations: Aleks Kurkowski, Alma & Lovis, Ann Toussaint, Atelier Laure Paschoud, Deepmello, Edelziege, Kaschuba Hommage, Katlen Thiel, Leibschneider, Luxaa, Mandali, Milde, Muyuli, Nicay, Nurmi, P.age, Royal Blush by Jana Keller, Stefanie Masotto, Studio Ecocentric, Studio Elsien Gringhuis, Vios and Vyosna.

The next GREENshowroom will be held from 2 to 4 July 2013.
