The collection will be unveiled as a fashion installation with real light sculptures and projections on the opening night of the festival on the grounds of the historic Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Open to the public for the first time in independent India, the lush grounds of the Jantar Mantar along with the beauty of the satellites is a major source of inspiration for the collection. Lending it a magical feel of astronomy and outer space, the pieces reflect iconic Indian imagery from daily life, mythology, arts, culture and heritage projected into the future.
The line comprises of 8 main outfits which are complemented with 12 small ones to depict the satellites orbiting one another. Created by using translucent synthetic fabrics, the pieces replicate the feel of unique sculptures, which are pieces of art that push the boundaries of creation to a new realm.
Uniting a vision of the future of art and science fiction along with the precinct of the Jantar Mantar, the collection promises to be different from anything showcased earlier. “We are delighted to be part of this prestigious festival, which is in its second year. Through this festival we are able to revisit our Indo – French roots and present pieces which are exquisite and have never been created earlier. We hope that the unique collection and ambience is appreciated by everyone” says Hemant.
