Mulberry revisits 1990s fashion trends at LFW day-3

Skirts over tights – a major trend which dominated the fashion scenes of 1990s, was once again revisited through English fashion company Mulberry’s latest presentation showcased on day three of London Fashion Week.

Designed under the aesthetic guidance of creative director Emma Hill, the label featured skater skirts worn over cropped and wide-leg trousers, puff sleeved tunic dresses, and brown and green hued tweed plaid coats with straightened sheepskin collars. The ensembles of the traditional British heritage brand were spiced up with prints of Autumnal flowers and woodland creatures in oxblood red, forest green and maroon shades.

London’s favourite celebrity designer Alice Temperley’s latest fall 2013 collection was heavily inspired by the onscreen looks of famous English director Alfred Hitchcock’s beleaguered heroine Tippi Hedren. The line featured trimmed tops, full skirts, floor length gowns, flapper dresses and silk scarves adorned with art deco prints and white and silver coloured embroidery.

Clothing label Preen, founded by Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, featured autumnal ensembles in shades of black, navy and vibrant orangey reds in their latest line. Decorated with luxurious prints, the line included dresses with plunging necklines, sexy pencil skirts, sheer blouses, glamorous coats and flowy feminine A-line outfits.

British designer Margaret Howell showcased her signature comfy yet luxuriously timeless creations at the show. The classy understated collection included sumptuously minimalistic designs like tailored black shirts, flattering midi-length skirts, wide legged trousers, long straight overcoats, buttoned up blue tops and velvet trouser suits.
