Milan to takeover baton from London fashion week

Taking over the fashion baton from London, Italy is all set to open its much awaited seven-day-long biannual fashion extravaganza Milan Fashion Week on February 20, 2013.
Italy is home to several internationally renowned designers and design houses and like every year, this year’s event schedule also brims with captivating catwalk shows from a series of local and international talents.
Big prominent fashion houses like Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and Prada are going to present their latest 2013-14 autumn-winter womenswear collections at the event.
Countless number of fashion critics, bloggers, celebrities and foreign and domestic buyers are expected to attend the event, which will run till February 26, 2013.
On the eve of the event, Mario Boselli, chairman of Italy’s apparel national chamber, said the Milan womeswear week will give positive signals of continuation of economic recovery.
