Ukrainian FW features F/W 2013 designs by 50 designers

More than 50 designers belonging to Ukraine, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Germany showcased their latest fall-winter 2013-2014 collections at the recently concluded 32nd edition of Ukrainian Fashion Week.

The most famous and well-established Ukrainian design talent Lilia Poustovit opened the six-day-long event with her line of exclusive sheer and printed silk dresses. Blending folk prints with modern designs, the designer’s Kenya-inspired collection included shirtdresses, voluminous coats and feminine skirts based on a fresh palette of white, coral and blue.

Designer Elena Burenina’s line featured a variety of 1970s style hats teamed up with feminine outfits like long flowy strapless dresses, asymmetrical leather jackets, midi-skirts and exaggeratedly collared coats in coral, grey, black and white shades.

Svetlana Bevza’s show at the event was a tribute to 1960s fashion revolution which introduced tomboyish dresses for young carefree girls. The masculine style line featured dress shirts, pants and suspenders.

Other than the spectacular runway presentations, the event also included showcases of young and up and coming designers under the Fresh Fashion project. The project presented individual apparel ranges created by Olga Timkova-Lyakhovska, Georgian designer Tatuna Nikolaishvili and English born Yuliya Polishchuk.
