Rajasthan Fashion Week returns to Jaipur on May 9

While Jaipur’s reputation as a luxury vacation destination is by now well-established, its emergence as a center of fashion is underway. On its second edition, Rajasthan Fashion Week is bringing burgeoning fashion scene to the city from 9th - 12th May 2013.

At Rajasthan Fashion Week, top fashion designers of the country will present their Fashion collection for 2013 to create a chic arena for buyers, editors and trendsetters with magnificent Fairmont Jaipur as the backdrop. The event includes a culture & style welcome party, offsite show, a grand opening show, after show parties and grand finale party at exquisite venues at Fairmont, Jaipur. 

26 designers will showcase their collection, including the top designers such as Ritu Kumar, Kavita Bhartia, Vikram Phadnis, Mandira Wirk, Neeta Lulla, Payal Jain, Krishna Dembla, Charu Parashar to name a few. The offsite show on May 9’12 is going to be held at the poolside of Fairmont which will showcase the collection by designer Rohit and Abhishek from Jaipur.

Commenting on the launch of the 2nd edition of Rajasthan Fashion Week, Ms. Shalika Sharma, Director and CEO of Rajasthan Fashion Week mentioned “With a success story in its first season itself, the second edition of Rajasthan Fashion week shall witness a differential scale of creative canvas & a new dimension to the business of Fashion in India with the global destination of fashion, establishing Rajasthan Fashion Week as a distinctive brand to reckon with”.

The grand event boasts of a never seen before 80 feet long ramp in India inspired from the International arena. The innovative royal box seating at the show area is sure to leave you enthralled as you witness the magnificent event. Well known professional choreographer duo Aparna Tanya will take charge of directing each show to perfection.

The high priestess from the world of makeup, Ambika Pillai will be lending the perfect hair and make up to the models who will be sashaying the ramp. We are glad to have luminaries such as Mr Pradeep Hirani (CMD-Kimaya), Mr Govind Shrikhande (MD-Shoppers Stop), Mr Francis Wacziarg (eminent promoter of art, craft & culture) , Ms Asha Baxi (Founder-Dean of NIFT), Mr Rajiv Arora (CMD-Amrapali), Mr Sudhir Dhingra (CMD-Orient Craft) on our advisory panel.”
