Globalization coupled with influence of media has driven various local designs to international platform and as a result there is an increase in demand for quality and exclusive designs.

To meet the demand of people, fashion designers all over the world are merging different traditional designs to create new trends.

Speaking to fibre2fashion, British fashion designer Nicholas Oakwell said, “People are now looking for quality instead of quality and I am sure that the fashion industry will opt for better designs as well as quality garments."

According to Brazilian fashion designer Mariana Razuk, people are currently influenced by TV soap operas and go shopping at big malls. “As a result, the taste for fashion is developing and the search for more exclusive as well as qualitative clothes has increased,” she says.

In order to meet demand for quality and exclusive creations, Spanish fashion designer Patricia Avendano searchs for the best quality fabrics all around the world for designing her collection.

An example of merging different traditions and creating new designs is the new look of Abaya, the traditional loose black robe worn by Muslim women, with change in colors, designs and fabrics.

“The new generation designers are giving a twist to fabrics, colors and designs of the traditional Abaya with its changing characteristics of covering the modesty of the women to a fashion statement in Arab world,” says fashion designer Umair Zafar.
