Malaysia is all set for its first ready-to-wear fashion week, ‘The New Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week RTW 2013’, that will be held from June 19-23, 2013, at the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.

Organised by Andrews Model, the KLFW event will witness works by 40 designers, giving an opportunity to the upcoming Malay designers to share the runway with the established ones.

The five-day event aims to develop the Malaysian fashion industry by providing a continuous fashion and retail platform to recognize the Malaysian made fashion and retail items.

The KLFW plans to introduce ready-to-wear collection as a major business plan to the current and future generation of Malaysian fashion designers.

The ready-to-wear clothing is produced in Malaysia without significant alteration and faster construction technique, to keep the costs low. The KLFW hopes to turn the Malaysian apparel and fashion industry into a more sustainable one with high export potentials.

The event will be attended by top fashion designers, clients, local and regional buyers, editors, retailers, and celebrities from the local and global fashion world.
