Madonna's boyfriend opts for designing career

Brahim Zaibat, the 25 year-old boyfriend of pop star Madonna, has chosen to try his hands on designing and has launched his own clothing line in association with some French designers.

The collection titled ‘Defend’ includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, tanks, beanies, crewnecks and hats—all in black colour and featuring various logos printed on them in white.

Some of the apparel pieces of Zaibat’s line have quotes like ‘countdown to violence’ and ‘war=peace’.

According to the brand philosophy displayed on the brand website, "Defend is fashion with a cause," which would donate the proceeds raised from sale of its apparel pieces to a charity of buyer’s choice. Presently, the brand offers three charity options to the buyers—Paris, human rights and children’s rights.

Several celebrities including Chris Brown, Rihanna, Zachary Quinto and Madonna herself have been spotted wearing Defend pieces, in recent days.

Fashion is not an alien concept for Madonna, as not only she is known for making fashion statements, but she also owns a clothing line of her own.

The line ‘Material Girl’ co-founded by Madonna with her daughter Lourdes Leon, has had a number of popular faces like Kelly Osbourne, Georgia May Jagger and Taylor Momsen as its brand ambassadors, in the past. Presently, British singer-songwriter and actress Rita Ora is endorsing the brand.
