The program will kick off on September 10th as part of MADE Fashion Week at Milk Studios in New York. The expert judging panel will include top model and style icon, Coco Rocha, acclaimed fashion designer Antonio Berardi, co-founder of MADE Jenne Lombardo, winner of last year's inaugural MADE for Peroni Young Designer Awards Nolan Bellavance and fashion editor and style expert Zanna Roberts Rassi.
This year, MADE for Peroni Young Designer Awards, the prestigious fashion design competition, will expand to young designers across three cities including New York City, Los Angeles and Miami. Fashion designers, over the age of 25 years old, are invited to submit original sketches evoking the craftsmanship, authenticity and creative excellence that are championed by Peroni around the world.
The top three finalists will be flown to New York City on September 10th, where they will have the opportunity to personally present their creative concept to the elite judging panel followed by a celebratory Peroni aperitivo event at Milk Studios. In addition, an installation comprised of the finalists' work will go on display at Milk Studios during fashion week to further introduce their talent to key players throughout MADE Fashion Week.
"Peroni is proud to have the MADE for Peroni Young Designer Awards return for a second year this September. After the success of last year, we are excited about the expanded talent pool of fashion designers from just New York to the West Coast in Los Angeles and all the way down to Miami while working with some of fashion's most respected authorities on an esteemed judging panel.
Peroni's partnership with MADE Fashion Week is an exciting platform to support emerging fashion talent in a truly meaningful way." – Ryan Verschoor, US Brand Director of Peroni Nastro Azzurro
The recipient of the MADE for Peroni Young Designer Award 2013 will receive $20,000 from Peroni to finance the design and production phase of their first eponymous collection, under the mentorship of Antonio Berardi and Nolan Bellavance. Peroni will also provide an additional $20,000 to use towards the designer's creative vision in showing their collection at MADE Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014 next February.
Peroni's Young Designer Awards is a global program that operates in key style markets around the world, illustrating its commitment to nurturing and championing rising design talent as only a leading Italian style brand would.
