Wellington-based fashion label Twenty-Seven Names opened the second day of ongoing thirteenth edition of Kiwi sartorial fest New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW).

Inspired from the works of Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte, the brand’s Autumn/Winter-2014 creations included preppy coats, silk culottes, narrow pants and pleated dresses decorated with heart and bowler hat motifs.

Self-taught designer Lela Jacobs presented her eleventh clothing collection titled De at the prestigious do. Made from natural fibres like wool, cotton-linen and bamboo silk, the fine metal embellished line featured 1920’s style dress shirts and black kimonos.

Fashion talent Adrian Hailwood drew inspiration from architecture for his latest range. Infused with drapery and vivid textures, the collection showcased business suits, pencil skirts and evening gowns in deep green, red, black and silver hues.

Andrea Moore played with a variety of colours for her new NZFW collection. Based on a cheerful palette of coral, royal blue, orange, red, gold, neon green and lime, the cocktail and evening wear ensembles were decorated with fur and metal embellishments.
