Rich, bright, sunny colours of Brazilian fashion were celebrated for the very first time at a specially staged catwalk show titled ‘Colours of Brazil’ in Pakistan.

Jointly organised by the Embassy of Brazil and the Lahore-based company Verve Event Management, the event featured a range of Brazilian culture-inspired outfits designed by the famous Pakistani designer Kamiar Rokni.

Attended by nearly 400 guests comprising of diplomats and the country’s fashion industry bigwigs, the show featured clothes influenced by Brazil’s mixed culture, which is a concoction of mid-century European, Bahia (African) and Japanese elements.

The event was a result of a project initiated by the Brazilian Embassy in 2011. As part of the project, four young talented Pakistanis, including the Creative Director of Verve Events Arsalan A Khan and designer Rokni, were sent to Brazil to experience its vibrant life.
