Located in a prestigious position - on the corner of two streets- , the boutique has an elegant front clad with black Marquina marble on which the windows alternate with a lightbox and the imposing central entrance. The façade is embellished with a facing of plate glass and a slender metal structure modulated by luminous slits running its full height.
The space, designed by the architect Roberto Baciocchi, covers a total area of 1000 square meters on two levels connected by a black marble staircase and presents the collections of ready-to-wear, accessories, leather goods and footwear for men and women.
The interior is conceived as a succession of geometric spaces, in which polished steel display cabinets, with a very slender structure and marble drawers, are alternated with the traditional Prada “niche,” here reinterpreted with the use green canvas and mirrors. The black-and-white marble floor, a legacy of Prada’s historic identity, deforms and, turning almost into a work of pop art, generates lines of perspective that pick out the focal points of the display.
All of the spaces are already visible from the ground floor through large polygonal openings in the ceiling that create a visual connection between the two levels. A full-height display case, devoted to leather goods, leads the customer’s gaze to the upper floor.
Walls lined with green fabric distinguish the space reserved for womenswear, turning it into the setting of a modern and seductive atelier. The furnishings are completed with plexiglass panels, transparent skylights, plexiglass and steel geometric tables and green velvet “Clover Leaf” sofas, designed by Verner Panton and reproduced exclusively for Prada.
The men’s area is characterized by walls covered with ebony and elegant display cabinets made of steel and black marble. The bright colors of saffiano leather - red, green and blue - define the display counters and the ostrich-skin sofas.
