Gucci is pleased to unveil its Women's Spring Summer 2014 Collection at a fashion show which took place in Milan.

The Women’s Spring Summer 2014 collection depicts a decisively strong, eclectic woman. Seductive and sensual by nature. Spontaneous. Uncontrived. Pairing sleek, loose lines with ornate decorative motifs. Inspired by athletic style. New opulence radiating nonchalance.

Creative Director Frida Giannini commented, “I took activewear essentials as a starting point and set out to create a feminine take on technical outfitting, crafted with Gucci’s codes. Intricate elegance, enlivened by a refined ornamentalism that takes its cue from Erté illustrations.”

SILHOUETTE

Fluid graphics. Black gives way to geometric lines lightened by iridescent colors, lurex and patterns. Technical details seal each look. Deep slits, unexpected cuts, plunging necklines, and transparencies for accentuated femininity. Each piece receives a deluxe treatment. Exquisite materials and artisanal techniques reworking sportswear basics.

Maxi t-shirts in perforated suede with elastic trim, mesh paired with jacquard, laminations, leather inlays. The suede bomber as light as a net. The trench and the jumpsuit in plissé silk. On pants and shorts, new proportions and detailing turn gymnastic shapes into style essentials. The silk kimono with leather edging or jacquard patterns. Inspiring the fit for dresses and jackets. A new below-the-knee length for low-waisted cocktail dresses. Kimono cuts or tunics for long dresses with deep slits.

EVENING

Ethereal physicality. New tunics. With pants. Black chiffon illuminated with iridescent sequined embroidery recalling Art Nouveau designs. Deconstructed lines interrupted by transparencies, necklines, and slits that reveal self-aware sensuality.

ACCESSORIES

Colorful yet black. Handbags embellished with draping fringe bear this season’s protagonist, burnished Bamboo. The maxi clutch, the shopper and the small shoulder bag. In monochromatic black or brights. In python, suede, and leather. Technical elastic characterizes every shoe, emblazoned with color, amplified by a cone-style heel with a faceted, metallic surface. Hardened plexiglass bracelets in the same hues as the maxi sunglasses, for new linear shades.
