Dubai FFWD to have international experts for fashion talks

The second season of the Dubai Fashion Forward (FFWD), scheduled to be held from October 15 to 18, 2013, would be bringing together a group of renowned international experts in the Dubai Design District (D3) Fashion Talks section.

The new season would feature industry leaders in design, education, e-commerce, buying, manufacturing and media who would offer advice and generate debate through a series of carefully designed presentations and panel discussions.

The Fashion Talk panel includes Nanette Lepore, designer and member of Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), Ben Malka, chairman and CEO of American label Halston, Philippe Von Borries, co-founder of beauty and fashion website Refinery29, and Stefan Siegel, former model and founder of website Not Just a Label (NJAL).

The D3 Fashion Talks will run alongside the catwalk presentations throughout the four-day event, giving exclusive insight into the workings of the global fashion industry, and how one can use this information to grow in the Middle East.

Heads of various leading academic institutions such as London College of Fashion, Domus Academy Fashion School Milan and Parsons School for Design in New York would also form a part of the discussion panel.

FFWD includes numerous catwalk presentations from top regional designers, inspiring talks and panel discussions led by global industry experts and fashion academia, through a string of social events.

The event also includes an assortment of accessory designers in the form of The Garden as well as The Fashion Gallery and Fashion Café.
