Qatar Luxury Group launches global fashion brand QELA

Qatar’s first global fashion brand QELA, which draws inspiration from Qatari heritage, has been launched officially by the Qatar Luxury Group (QLG) with a new boutique at The Pearl in the capital city of Doha.
QELA is a project initiated by the QLG and the Qatar Foundation, and has been designed for women with a sense of modesty by using precious materials.
At the launch of the store, models paraded in the brand’s autumn collection which included dresses with flowing, almost minimalist lines and details that were inspired by the local landscapes, desert dunes and culture in subtle yet rich colors.
HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani, board director of QLG, said the success of the fashion house will help initiate a new fashion industry for local upcoming designers and craftspeople as part of Qatar National Vision 2030, reports Gulf Times.
A team of talented designers and skilled craftsmen from the country and all over the world were brought together by the QLG and Qatar Foundation to conceive and create the brand, he added.
