New York to host 'Made in Italy' Bridal Fashion Week

Sfila NYC and The Region of Sicily in cooperation with The European Union present "Made In Italy," an exclusive Bridal Week Fashion Show featuring Italy's finest emerging designers. After having hit the runways in Milan and Paris, Sfila NYC is honored to debut these luxury bridal collections for the first time in New York City.

"Made In Italy" will feature designers Ignazio Bissoli, Daniela Cocco, Marco Cucinotta, Gemelle Donato, Ejè Collection, Loredana Roccasalva, Roberta Lojacono, La Via Della Seta and Vico dei Fiori Chiari. Sfila NYC is a New York based fashion show production company aimed to assist foreign designers expand their businesses internationally.

The event will take place at the luxurious XVI Rooftop Lounge at the Hilton Garden in Times Square on October 12th at 7pm. Sfila NYC will offer guests the opportunity to view the designer's latest collections along with dancers, musicians and singers who will perform during breaks. The show will be followed by an after-party Apertivo allowing buyers, models and photographers a chance to meet, mingle and network.

Sfila NYC says, “Our goal is to put a "spot-light" on emerging Italian designers who deserve attention in the New York area, a metropolis where the quality of Italian design is greatly appreciated. Due to the state of Europe's economy, production costs have gone up causing many couture companies to unfortunately close.

“SfilaNYC is not only about creating new avenues for these phenomenal designers via fashion shows, it is also to create bonds for these companies with potential buyers. Our mission is to save as many "authentic," still "made-by-hand" companies as we can before our nation goes forever mass-produced and we lose those very important links to our fashion heritage.

The Designers:

Ignazio Bissoli expresses that his muse is a woman who likes to express herself by choosing her clothes without the dictation of trends; a woman who uses fashion in order to be confident and communicate her mood. His techniques vary according to the material he is using and the garment he wants to create. He prefers to produce clothing with different materials such as leather, fabrics, damasks, fur, rhinestones and feathers, vintage or totally modern prints in order to obtain a patchwork effect. Each one of his pieces is unique, modern, fresh and fun.

Since 1955, Marco Cuccinotta has distinguished itself as a leader in Artisan Headpiece and Accessory design throughout Italy and internationally. Behind every flower, headpiece or unique hat design there is a meticulous technique, precision and attention to detail in the process of its creation and finishes. For each design only the finest natural fabrics, exclusive laces and authentic accessories are hand-picked to create these one-of-a-kind pieces.

Gemelle Donato: The passion for elegance and refined taste for a sober yet rich in harmonious details has always been part of the creativity of twin sisters Antonella and Mariella Donato. Their designs are inspired by the cosmopolitan bride. They internationalize the frontiers of the bridal industry by anticipating and making the classical lines of their wedding gowns always contemporary and extremely elegant, sparkling and young.
