M.I.A. designs counterfeit Versace clothing inspired line

Mathangi Maya Arulpragasam, the Sri Lankan-British recording artist who is better known by her stage name M.I.A., has teamed up with Italian label Versace’s diffusion line Versus Versace to design a novel collection.
Inspired from the counterfeit Versace designs found in east London markets, the 16-piece range is a mix of classic sportswear with the celebrated fashion house’s signature gold medallions featuring Sanskrit-inspired inscriptions and lotus flowers.
Scheduled to be available online and in selected stores from October 16, 2013 onwards, the urban casualwear line includes jeans, silk shirts, tops, dresses, military jackets and hoodies, for both men and women.
Founded in 1989, Versus Versace embodies the true rock and roll spirit of its Milan-based parent company Versace.
