Christian Dada shows embroidery strewn line at Tokyo FW

Popular Japanese label Christian Dada offered an embroidery strewn collection for the next Spring/Summer season on the fourth day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo.

Staying true to his affinity towards timeless black, the brand’s designer Masanori Morikawa presented military-inspired pieces for men and some dark outfits for women on a musical catwalk that saw the iconic rock band Kiss performing live.

The collection included jackets, short dresses, vests, vampy skirts, wide-leg trousers and some delectable gold lame pieces as well as a show-stopping gold metallic coat, worn by none other than the American band’s guitarist himself Paul Stanley, at the show.

Designer Nozomi Ishiguro featured pieces from both his high-end Nozomi Ishiguro Haute Couture brand and his label for the young generation, Tambourine, in the same runway presentation.

The couture ensembles included asymmetrical skirts decorated with American flag’s stars-and-stripe prints, frilly heart-shaped bustiers and dresses with lines of swirling ruffles.

Enhanced with sequins and cartoon, flower and graffiti-like prints, the Tambourine line showcased T-shirts, sweatshirts and colourful checked shirts.

Fashion label Beautiful People’s designer Hidenori Kumakiri harked back to the trends of 70s for his latest collection which included slim-cut pantsuits, animal printed A-line mini-dresses, denims, a feminine trenchcoat in forest-green and few droopy hats and lace ensembles.

Beijing-born designer Sara Arai behind the Araisara brand presented a dreamlike yet sporty collection called Fantasia at the prestigious soiree. Infused with elements from Japanese fashion and flowery motifs, the line included flowing long sundresses, cheeky shorts and blue and green coloured loose silk jackets.
