Valencia Fashion Week to become more cost-effective

Valencia Fashion Week (VFW), the Spanish fashion revelry, is the latest to engage in the task of revamping itself to make it more designer-friendly.

Following the example of New York Fashion Week, which is undergoing some phenomenal changes for its February, 2014 edition, the forthcoming 16th edition of VFW is also set to embrace some changes to make the event more cost-effective for the participants.

For its upcoming Autumn/Winter 2014/2015 calendar, which is slated to take place from March 6 to 8, 2014, the event will create more opportunities for the designers to promote themselves and their talents on a broader scale.

In order to make the event less crowded, new venues with tighter seating capacities, to accommodate specific industry insiders with real interest in fashion such as buyers and trade press, will be introduced.

Also some cultural venues and a centralized space will be added to provide more options for the participants to organize their shows on different backdrops with varied personalized themes, based on their catwalk collections.

In addition to the runway shows, a fashion festival showcasing every aspect of the design industry, including creations from new talents, will also be held at the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències in Valencia. The festival activities will be streamed live 24/7 on some selected online channels.
