Once again, the high-end British fashion salon Bellville Sassoon will be the subject of a forthcoming exhibit at Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Fashion Museum.

Due to take place from January 25, 2014 to January 1, 2015, the event aims to chart the history of the firm with an expansive display of luxurious dresses and original sketches, designed by its co-founders—socialite Belinda Bellville and designers David Sassoon and Lorcan Mullany.

Loaned from the personal collections of the couture house’s loyal customers, the display will showcase nearly 25 evening dresses, including a frilly, pleated pink taffeta gown worn by Lady Beatty at the Proust Edwardian Ball (1971), a 1990s embroidered steel blue satin dress and a Chinese shawl-inspired mocha silk number.

Also, three ensembles, sourced from the wardrobe of the Princess of Wales—Lady Diana, such as the peachy silk going-away dress donned by the late royal in July 1981, will be a part of the exhibit titled ‘A Life in Fashion - Bellville Sassoon Lorcan Mullany’.

In 2011 British fashion designer David Sassoon donated his archive of hundreds of fashion drawings from the late 1950s to the 2000s to the Fashion Museum in Bath.

Recently London’s Fashion and Textile Museum also hosted a retrospective exhibit entitled ‘The Glamour of Bellville Sassoon’, which featured around 150 dresses created by the famous couture label, founded in 1953.
