This Valentine’s Day, designer Shehla Khan helps one look their best. With the right colour, cuts and styles, she helps one decode the must have’s for one’s perfect romantic night out. Brights are here to stay, opt for navy blues, reds and blacks especially in lace. Shehla feels big bold prints will also be a good trend to follow.

Cropped tops which are loser and bare one’s midriff is already quite the rage and lighter pastel shades such as cream, pink, blue or in a nice floral or digital print, one will look stylish especially for those going in for a more casual sundowner look.

If wearing leggings then a loose printed blouse is perfect, this could also be dressed up with a belt at the waist. A great and minimalist option for a romantic lunch is a white shirt or a blouse, which is available in various styles, with black fitted pants or jeggings, this could be accessorized with long gold necklaces.

For the night out, she suggests choosing a tea length or calf length sheath dress with sleeves which could have an interesting back or deep neck to give some extra appeal. Another chic option is the Trapeze dresses which are shorter in length, reminiscent of the 60s and add volume to your top and show off your slim legs.

A nice slim fit maxi in a bold print can accentuate one’s curves and give length. For accessories, choose a pair of strappy wedges that could be worn in the evening and some nice necklaces in silver which one can bunch together to dress it up.

For the experimental, Shehla recommends going in for a nice calf length dress fitted in a bold color such as red or then another option is a fitted skirt in black, either tea length or ankle length with a pretty lace blouse and some earrings with a nice hairdo and bold red lipstick to complete the evening look.
