California's J Brand ropes in young LFW star Simone Rocha

After collaborating with London Fashion Week (LFW) stars like Christopher Kane and Proenza Schouler, the upmarket Californian denim label J Brand has now roped in the latest young design sensation Simone Rocha for a limited-edition collection.

The Dublin-born designer of mixed origins, who made her LFW debut during the bi-annual event’s spring/summer 2011calendar, will create a special capsule range, which will be available for sale sometime towards the end of 2014.

Daughter of the talented fashion stalwart John Rocha, the Central St Martins grad, Simone, is a favourite among the likes of Alexa Chung, Laura Bailey and Chloe Moretz.

Known for her multi-layered feminine designs, the 27-year-old has earlier bagged the Emerging Womenswear Designer Awards accolade at the British Fashion Awards in 2013.

Her LFW Autumn/Winter 2013 line was inspired from the dressing styles of her Irish granny Margaret Gleeson and Chinese grandmother Cecilia Rocha. Rekindling nostalgia with a fresher touch, the bubble gum and powdery pink collection featured elegant veils, dropped waist dresses, apron-styled skirts, white shirts with lemon hued collars and cap sleeved cropped tops.

Specializing in both men’s and women’s denimwear, the Los Angeles-based J Brand maintains presence in more than 20 countries worldwide.

With an impressive clientele list, comprising Duchess of Cambridge, Miranda Kerr and Suki Waterhouse, the jeans specialist has previously collaborated with promising emerging names like Erdem, Meadham Kirchhoff, Peter Pilotto and Richard Nicoll.
