Donna Karan celebrates 30 years in fashion

The Donna Karan fashion house put on a fitting celebration for its 30th anniversary show to mark New York Fashion Week. The show was a tribute to women and above all, to the city that never sleeps.
The heart of New York could be felt beating in the collection’s monochrome silhouettes.
Black, grey, white and camel were subtly enhanced by splashes of red and gilded embroidery, a nod to the urban poetry that defines the metropolis where the iconic designer has spent her career.
Beyond a linear retrospective, the collection covered the essence of what makes the Donna Karan woman so special.
Ultra-feminine, sensual and combative, she boldly wears a jacket belted at the waist paired only with thigh-high black suede boots, or a fluid evening dress in velvet dévoré unabashedly revealing the body. The timeless elegance of the collection is a reminder of Donna Karan’s seminal influence on American fashion.
