A total of 19,850 visitors from 48 countries travelled to CPM Collection Première Moscow, which has ended successfully. The knowledgeable and order-friendly trade visitors flocked to the stands in the CPM Kids, Body&Beach, Fashion&Denim, Premium and Styles segments, and occupied all of the seats available the 45 fashion shows in the new catwalk area.

Many of the 1,600 collections for the 2014/15 Autumn/Winter season completed the trade fair with full order books – in spite of the disadvantageous euros-rouble exchange rate.

"CPM remains a vital economic initiator in the Eastern European region, and was able to prove its international pull once again with eleven national pavilions," says CPM Project Director Christian Kasch, summarizing the fair's success. According to a survey conducted by ITMM (Internationale Textilmarketing und Management GmbH), the exhibitors see this trade fair as being absolutely indispensable, since around 40% of the order dates are set during the run-up to the fair.

"Customers would rather order at CPM than in the showrooms in Moscow, where it's only possible to visit two to three a day due to the traffic situation," one exhibitor in the Kids segment theorizes.

The extensive supporting programme was also well visited over all days of the trade fair. Especially well attended were the trend lecture presented by our new partner, WGSN, and the various seminars organised as part of the Russian Fashion Retail Forum.

During the 4 trade fair days numerous Russian movie and music stars and starlets were seen around the catwalk. Internationally recognized male model Marcus Schenkenberg, who presented his own collection for the first time in the Fashion&Denim segment, and model and designer Anna Chapman had a great time as they joined the guests at the Fashion Night on the evening of the first trade fair day.

Fashion bloggers also discovered CPM as a forum. The BloggerTalk on the second day of the trade fair was attended by over 50 renowned bloggers. Acting as a host here was the well-known blogger Ekaterina Odintsova whose blog has over 16,000 international followers.

German fashion labels are benefiting in a big way from the continuing trend toward medium to upper price range items on the Russian apparel market, reporting an 11% increase in sales in the first nine months of last year.

This represents €582 million in total deliveries. Other EU countries that are benefiting significantly from the development in apparel exports include Spain (+19%, €176 million), the United Kingdom (+17%, €106 million), and Austria (+14%, €47 million).

"CPM enjoys an excellent reputation in the Eastern European region and supports many exhibitors in establishing their brand on the Russian market," states Philipp Kronen, Managing Partner of the Igedo Company in review. He continues, "No other instrument serves such a broad range of different objectives, allows so many personal contacts or offers a comparable amount of information."
