Melbourne Fashion Festival to highlight Aussie talents

Once again Australia’s local fashion designers will grab the spotlight at the forthcoming edition of Melbourne Fashion Festival (MFF), scheduled to take place from March 17 to 23, 2014.

The high-end women’s fashion brand Tettmann will showcase its latest ready-to-wear silk and leather made pieces at the event. Designed by the label founder Elke Doust, the catwalk collection will be enhanced by the house’s trademark digital prints and rich embellishments.

Clothing label Neo Dia’s designer duo Gavin Lowes and Rebecca Chua will give a glimpse of their signature geometric chic and sharp tailoring styles at the soiree, alongside the young 24-year-old Christina Exie’s new creations.

Also names like Josh Goot, David Jones, Alex Perry, Alice McCall, Camilla and Marc, and Trelise Cooper will feature their avant-garde ensembles at the annual fest.

Other than the traditional runway shows, several solo pop-up fashion parades will be hosted by the independently spirited designers and brands like Nixi Killick and Viktoria and Woods under the festival’s Offsite Runway Series.

The upcoming Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival calendar will also include the Fashion Film Series, which will feature a collection of short fashion films created by the country’s most talented filmmakers such as Elli Ioannou, Jarred Osborn and Julian Lucas.
