Baltic's crème-de-la-crème to partake in Riga Fashion Week

An array of Autumn/Winter 2014/15 collections by some of the best Baltic region designers will be showcased at the 20th edition of Riga Fashion Week (RFW), slated to take place from April 1 to 5, 2014.

Well-known Latvian designers and brands such as Katya Katya Shehurina, Anna LED, Natalija Jansone, One Wolf, Red Salt, Alexander Pavlov, Narciss, Nolo, BeCarousell, Paviljons and QooQoo along with Pohjanheimo (Estonia) and D.EFECT (Lithuania) will showcase their latest prêt-a-porter creations at the event.

Other than the famous names, emerging local talents like Baiba Ladiga and Inga Nipane will also debut at the five-day-long soiree. Designer Ladiga will present a home interior space-inspired collection and the Latvian Art Academy designer Nipane will unveil her new line inspired from the medieval knights.

While speaking on the local designers’ line up at RFW, the president of the Baltic Fashion Federation Elena Strahova says, “The Baltic Fashion Federation has great pleasure and pride for the Latvian fashion industry which has experienced remarkable development during last ten years.”

“We appreciate that the best Latvian designers, the RFW participants, have worked with us during all these years and that the Riga Fashion Week helps them to develop their businesses. We are grateful for their loyalty and long-term cooperation, and wish them always to achieve their goals and to implement new ideas,” she adds.

In addition to the Baltic state designers, Italian fashion designer Paola Balzano will also display her feminine and sophisticated designs, infused with traditional Italian tailoring, architectural shapes and strong Oriental hints, at the event, to be held in the Latvian capital.
