With day to day fashion becoming more and more wearable and designers creating pieces that no longer aim to stay as mere decorative items, the conservative religious communities from around the world are also trying to stay ahead in the race by modifying their modest attires into something more contemporary.

One such creator is the Belgian activist of Moroccan origin Rachida Aziz who has just unveiled a new comfortable yet stylish spring collection for modern day Muslim women. Inspired from the Moroccan theatre, the range includes turbans and hooded dresses in shades varying from pink to grey and black.

The 42-year-old Antwerp-born and Brussels-based designer is known for her smart urban designs for confident young Muslim women, of all sizes and colours, who want to dress up in a more contemporary way without compromising on their religious beliefs.

The designer’s most saleable items include dresses attached with the traditional hijabs or headscarves, leggings, striped pastel hued shawls and adjustable skirts as well as stylish fashion accessories.

The Rachida Aziz brand owns two ethical practice following workshops located in Brussels and Casablanca (Morocco). Her list of clientele includes Queen Mathilde of Belgium.
