Martha Kabaso launches Zambia-inspired Africouture line

Zambian fashion designer Martha Kabaso has just launched a clothing line inspired from African culture.
Named as Africouture, the collection, replete with architectural shapes and vibrant colours, is designed to stimulate people’s interest in the beautiful ethnic designs of Zambia.
A mix of both traditional and modern elements, the range is made using luxe lace, satin, cotton and the Zambian indigenous fabric chitenge.
An alumnus of Lusaka Business College, Kabaso draws her inspiration from the unique design styles of Gibraltar-born British designer John Galliano.
The Lusaka-based designer specializes in well-tailored costumes for all shapes and sizes as well as outfits for weddings and other special occasions.
