Modest fashion creators to show at Hijab Fashion Week

Islamic fashion will grab spotlight at the forthcoming inaugural event Hijab Fashion Week, a global fashion do that aims to bring modest fashion lovers, designers, stylists and bloggers on a single platform.

Slated to take place from October 22 to 27, 2014 in London, the soiree will celebrate and promote veiled or headscarf adorned fashions through a series of programmes such as catwalk shows, creative arts related events and talks.

The major highlight of the event will be a special runway parade entitled Super Bloggers Catwalk, due to be held on October 24, 2014, which will highlight creations from labels like Moon Doll Boutique and Darren Bonello.

With an objective to highlight strong influential veil wearing women in the mainstream media, the fashion do will be attended by the famous style columnists Amenakin and Dina Toki-O from the fashion and lifestyle English language magazine for cosmopolitan Muslim women ‘Aquila Style’.

Proceeds from the event, which will be live streamed on social media platforms, will benefit Afghanaid, a charity organisation that strives to improve the lives of poor people in rural Afghanistan.
