Z Zegna brand sweeps the Pitti Immagine Uomo show

The just wrapped up 86th version of the world’s leading menswear showcase Pitti Immagine Uomo highlighted male fashion and accessory designs from more than 1,030 global brands.

The famous Italian menswear house Ermenegildo Zegna’s newly revived brand Z Zegna showcased its latest Spring 2015 collection, designed jointly by its former creative director Paul Surridge along with the Milanese house’s sub-label Zegna Sport’s previous creative head Murray Scallon.

Replete with Italian tailoring and a hint of sporty styles, the urban outerwear heavy range was made using Techmerino fabric (lightweight wool mixed with rip free materials). The line included short motor parkas, drawstring-waist shorts, crisp blazers, chunky cotton-nylon-blend cardigans, slim trousers and hooded windbreakers.

Famous denim manufacturer G-Star RAW, in collaboration with American rapper Pharrell Williams, showcased a capsule range, emblazoned with the Otto the Octopus logo, made from fibres derived from recycled plastic wastes gathered from the world’s oceans.

Spiewak, a 110-year-old U.S. label that specializes in dock labourer’s workwear, exhibited a capsule collection designed jointly with Japanese bike wear specialist Kazumasa Kobayashi. The range’s most outstanding creation was a gunmetal gray coloured bomber jacket replete with a half inner zip mesh lining.

In addition to the above-mentioned names, the event also witnessed vividly coloured, vibrant floral print shirts from the 30-year-old designer for the Swedish shirtmaker Eton, Sebastian Dollinger, as well as bright cobalt blue trousers from the Latorre label.

Apart from showcasing apparel designs from big international giants, the eight-day Florentine event also displayed ensembles from tiny niche brands and startup businesses.
