The sixth edition of BMW India Bridal Fashion Week 2014 in association with AZVA at DLF Emporio, New Delhi on day 2 saw an enthralling collection by the suave designer Raghavendra Rathore.

'Re-incarnating Relics' was a celebration of the spiritual manifestation of a melange of traditions, ushering in a new era of clothes embodying history, a rebellion of colors splashing modernism on to the austere canvas of the ramp

The stage was step up like a palace from Rajasthan with royalty flags enchanting royal bliss. Raghavendra Rathore presented a very entertaining show not just through his spectacular designs but also through many little treats for the viewers. One such treat was the music of the show. Contrary to the stage set up the music of the show was all that jazz and pop.

Instead of beautiful female models opening the show we saw gorgeous men take charge of the stage and begin the show! There was also a moment of cuteness overload when little boys dressed up in Raghavendra Rathore creation walked the ramp with the female models.

The show was closed by two celebrity show stoppers-dazzling Aditi Rao Hydari who wore a classic ivory saree with a bandh gala jacket and B-town's new face, Ali Afzal from the fame Bobby Jasoos who looked dapper in a pink and beige ensemble.

The highlight and the forerunner of the collection was the classic fluid Dhoti. The tailored classical Rathore Bandhgala and the Bandhgala Achcan were paired as a compliment to the flowing Dhoti in alchemy of silhouettes and combinations.

Raghavendra Rathore pioneers in menswear and never hesitates on the saturation level of his collection’s color palette. It was a delight to see well groomed men walk the ramp in shades of popping pink, sunny orange, bright purples, navy blues, dark maroons, black, beige and gold.

The women of the show too looked fabulous in female versioned sherwani, bandh gala jackets, achkans and jodhpuri pants which gave an ‘Indian’ androgynous look. The pairing of organza asymmetric skirts and lehengas with Rathore jackets reinvented the look of the modern day bride.

Rathore's designs always have an old world charm of Rajasthan and royalty yet the collection was a reflection of the future of Groom and bride’s wear, how people will dress when they travel across the globe for a wedding.
