After her occasional but super successful collaborative clothing design ventures with international high-street retailers, the New York-based Barbadian singer Rihanna is now prepping up to enter the world of fashion design in a more pre-planned way.

According to independent.co.uk, the 26-year-old recording artist, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, has trademarked her moniker for use on a wide range of fashion products such as clothing, swimwear and lingerie.

The singer’s company Roraj Trade LLC has trademarked her surname Fenty for the following brand names- Fenty Apparel, Fenty Clothing, Fenty Intimates, Fenty Lingerie, Fenty Swim and Fenty Swimwear.

In addition to the above mentioned names, the company has also filed trademark documents for personal care items and software, such as Fenty Beauty, Fenty Cosmetics, Fenty Face, Fenty Makeup, Fenty Nails, Fenty Corp, Robyn, Fenty88 and Rhi Rhi.

Rihanna first debuted as a fashion designer at London Fashion Week’s February 2013’s segment with her Ri-ri for River Island capsule collection, created in partnership with the British purveyor River Island. Since then, the designer had designed three successive ranges for the retailer.

Her maiden autumn/winter 2013 catwalk line included a range of grunge-inspired outfits, including navel-exposing cropped tops, neon toned satin outfits, sheer monochrome dresses, basic jerseys and slashed denims.

The singer-turned-designer had also appeared in Balmain’s spring/summer 2014 campaign where she posed in a black leather boiler suit, a round-shouldered pink dogtooth check coat with reversed cuffs as well as a white and gold chain accented denim top paired with high-waisted trousers.

Founded in 1948, with headquarters in London, River Island operates over 300 stores in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Russia, Holland, Poland, Belgium and the Middle East.

Established in 1945, Balmain is known for its chic couture designs, favoured by the likes of Angelina Jolie, Penélope Cruz, Alexandra Kerry, Tatiana Sorokko, Kate Moss and Kristin Davis.
