More than 150 exhibitors will partake in the forthcoming second edition of Lifestyle Pakistan, an expo that aims to highlight the country’s finest textiles and fashion accessories created by Pakistani designers.

Slated to be take place from September 11 to 14, 2014 in the Indian capital city of New Delhi, the event will feature an array of prêt-a-porter, couture and ready-to-wear garments, including denims, woven and knitwear, alongside home textiles and lawn collections.

The event will showcase creations from members of the Fashion Pakistan Council (FPC) such as the New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) grad whose brand sells in Dubai, India, Hong Kong and London, Mehreen Noorani, the local garment and textile manufacturing expert Adnan Pardesy, the London’s Central Saint Martins’ alumnus Misha Lakhani and the refined luxurious fashion creator Muhammad Ahsan Nazir.

In an exclusive tête-à-tête with Fibre2fashion, Ms. Saleem says, “Considering how both the countries take great pride in the subcontinent’s culture, I find this display to be just the right thing to strengthen relations on the basis of this similarity. A show of our life style and ideas will prove to both the nations how alike they are.”

Mr. Perwani also revealed, “This is an excellent opportunity for us to showcase the marks our fashion industry has hit and expand on the opportunities now available, in order to further cultivate our potential.”

Catwalk shows, B2B meetings with Indian importers and a display of leather, handicrafts, engineering and agro products will also be highlighted on the sidelines of the four-day fashion and lifestyle-centric event, which will be organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

With a primary objective to encourage, foster, promote, enhance, facilitate and assist individual labels or design houses in the sale and promotion of high quality garments in the domestic market, the FPC hopes to act as a catalyst for the export of Pakistani branded goods to various international buying houses as well as retail stores especially in the high fashion and value addition sector in Pakistan, UAE, India, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and the western capitals where there is a Pakistani diaspora.
