Bridal & rising labels shine at Fashion Festival Brisbane

The second day of the ongoing Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane (MBFFB) was a delightful parade of exquisite creations from bridalwear experts, emerging labels and fashion accessory specialists.
The Monil Jewelers Bridal Group Show featured some 14 bespoke wedding gowns created by names like Brides Desire by Wendy Sullivan, Bertossi Brides and Paddington Weddings, George Wu, Rayner Lee, Darb Bridal Couture and Jack Sullivan Bridal.
The major highlights of the presentation included several fitted nipped at the waist strapless or full and cap sleeved bodices attached with floor sweeping voluminous skirts in luxe satin, silk and lace as well as few pristine white short knee-skimming numbers with long veils.
The Emerging Designer Group Show displayed stunning Spring/Summer 2015 creations by nine up and coming labels from the South East Queensland. The show’s standout ensembles were tutu inspired gowns by Begitta, A Jacksonian Era’s arm hole designs and black ruffled skirt and matching bralet top combos, sophisticated asymmetrical gowns by Suzii K, Peony’s check and printed two-piece swimsuits, Erin Hassall‘s boldly printed designs and silk dresses from the Brisbane-based designer of Russian dissent Anna Hulm.
In addition to the runway shows, pop-up-shops (selling pre-loved designer and vintage clothing) as well as discussions on luxury fashion culture with an esteemed panel of experts including the fashion curator and co-director of The Fashion Archives, Brisbane, Dr. Nadia Buick, were also organized on the second day of MBFFB.
