Antigua launches techno-fabric crafted women's golf line

The American apparel brand Antigua has recently launched its Spring 2015 women’s golf apparel collection, made using moisture absorbing, soft and stretchy technology enhanced materials.

A balanced mix of comfort and fashion-forward styles, the new line is crafted from the label’s Desert Dry (which is a blend of soft polyester and cotton jersey fabrics, as well as a mix of polyester, cotton and spandex yarns) and Desert Dry XTRA-LITE (D2XL), the ultra-light, sweat wicking, 100 percent polyester crafted fabric which feels and looks like cotton.

Enhanced with stripes, trims, colour blocking details, tasteful triangular cut outs and flirty necklines, the collection, which can be worn both to the golf course and for casual outings, is based on a palette of black and white with pops of neon hues.

The brand’s head designer in the womenswear section, Danielle Dellios, says in a statement, “Many customers are looking for something to wear on the course but also to social events, out running errands, etc. That in mind, I combined a professional-yet-relaxed look for this line. Women want new necklines, collar treatments and styles -- which led me to play with the idea of a non-conventional polo silhouette.”

“Geometric shapes and details are trending, and by adding small details like a triangle cut-out on the placket, the once-mundane silhouette now offers something fun and unique,” adds the designer.

“By mixing black and white in with fun colors such as calypso, electric and papaya, I'm providing older customers with a neutral base and a pop of color to make them feel trendy while still maintaining a wide demographic,” Dellios further explains.

Also Ron McPherson, the President and CEO of Antigua, reveals “We're very excited about our Spring 2015 Women's Golf Collection. Response to the bright colors, fantastic new styling, and the advanced moisture-wicking technology has been outstanding. This promises to be our best-selling women’s collection to date.”

Founded in 1976, headquartered in Peoria, Arizona, Antigua specializes in men’s, women’s and children’s lifestyle apparel and sportswear. The company’s sports division holds license agreements with National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), Minor League Baseball (MiLB), National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
