MBFF Brisbane witnesses group shows on day 3

The Brisbane Arcade show, staged on the third day of the ongoing Mercedes-Benz fashion Festival Brisbane (MBFFB), was opened by the Tengdahl label which featured striped flowing maxis, geometric print short dresses, lace detailed tops, shimmering gowns and drop-waist numbers, while the fashion brand Daniel Lightfoot displayed an elegant range of black gowns, replete with varying hemlines, voluminous skirts, interesting necklines and thigh-high side slits..

The Queensland label Darb Bridal Couture showcased its latest wedding fashion creations which included several floor skimming nipped at the waist strapless as well as sleeveless lace dresses and short and long numbers adorned with fringes and gigantic bows, whereas the designer Pia du Pradal took inspiration from a trip to Queensland’s cotton crop plantations in Goondiwindi for her colourful feminine range which included floral print and bow decorated suits and dresses in 1950’s retro styles.

MBFFB debutante Irma J Smith House of Fashion, owned by home-grown design sisters Bronwyn and Marabeth Smith, opted to present a modernised classical old world charm enhanced line made from laser cut European silk and embroidered linen while Deanne Mayocchi, the designer behind the Australian label Maiocchi, presented a romantic and dreamy catwalk presentation titled Kiss and Tell. Inspired from 1950’s shapes, the range included pretty floral dresses, smart little jackets, flirty frocks and sassy separates.

White Label Noba kicked off the Mercedes Benz Group Show with its sleepwear pieces like polka dot kaftans, peasant blouses, caplets and feather trimmed gowns.

Designer Lisa Brown featured bright jumpsuits with matching headscarves, halter gowns, harem pants, long knitwear vests and tribal print palazzo pants whereas 400 Co label opted to present some futuristic peplums, jungle print shifts, palazzos and emerald piped cigarette pants.

Sacha Drake revived the old Hollywood glamour with her monochrome giraffe print tunics, drop waist dresses, blouse and skirt combos, floral caplets and leaf print halters while labels like Molly and Polly, Aqua Blu and Heaven Swimwear displayed their new swimsuit creations.
