French Connection Autumn/Winter 2014 men's collection
The UK-based global high street fashion brand French Connection has recently unveiled men’s and women’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collections.

Influenced by the contrasting grandeur of Russian wealth during the Tsar regime against the bleak landscapes of Siberia, the womenswear range is adorned with paisley, geometric and digitized floral prints in a rich palette of dove grey, celestial blue, charcoal and berry colours.

Based on simple and functional cuts, the athletic and masculine inspired line includes relaxed fit separates, draped blouses and Russian ceramic design-style lacquered lace detailed dresses with modern sheer sleeves.

The range depicts the icy harshness of Siberia through the pale blue dropped shoulder coat with brushed wool finish, the crystal accented open knit sweater, boucle and wool coats, animal print knitwear and some heavily embroidered, zip fastener attached off-shoulder eveningwear looks.

The collection’s menswear re-introduces the classic gentleman staples reworked into contemporary aesthetics. Based on a very British-style artisanal silhouettes, the range is primarily made from lamb’s wool.

Created on an essential autumnal palette of camel, charcoal, port and navy spiked with dashes of lifeboat yellow and blue sapphire shades, the line features pheasant fair-isle jumpers, wool overcoats, quilted jackets, Chambray shirts, and some polka dotted and check printed denim and crisp poplin crafted shirts.

The sharp collection also offers few 1990’s sportswear-inspired pieces like jackets with a shiny matt finish, waffle knit hoodies and sleek bomber jackets.

Founded in 1972, French Connection is an edgy, attitudinal British fashion brand that specializes in well-designed and fashion-forward clothing with a quirky spin. The label operates more than 1,500 outlets across 25 countries worldwide.

The brand was introduced in India at the Lakme Fashion Week’s April 2007 edition by Brand Marketing India (BMI). French Connection now owns over 250 points of sale across 43 cities in the country alongside its exclusive online portal for the Indians.

BMI is a holding company that assists international brands looking to foray into India. All of BMI’s stores are designed to global standards and present in prime high street, mall and department store locations. (PB)
