More than 40 local and international designers featured their latest lines of eclectic apparel designs at the just held edition of Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2014.

Themed as Afrocentrica, the four-day-long Harare-held soirée witnessed an African, Asian and western patterns infused collection by Thembani Mubochwa, the South Africa-settled Zimbabwean designer and founder of the Durban-based brand TZM Fashion House. The range included a leather heavy womenswear line with decorative necklines and some kasoka apparels for pastors and preachers.

The South African design talent Leigh Schubert featured a symmetrically created clothing line replete with black, orange and neon yellow hued stripes while designer Sarudzai Murungu chose to showcase a feminine range in a soothing light palette adorned with stripes and geometric lines.

Fashion label Noees, owned by designer Nompumelelo Marilyn Samambgwa, displayed a sexy vibrant blue, pink and orange heavy swimwear collection and Kuda Chihungwa opted to showcase a well-tailored menswear and womenswear series in grey and other neutral tones at the event.

Tapfumanei Munenge showed a sheer and lace heavy range, which included a white mid-riff baring embroidered cropped top and matching skirt combo and a red see-through full-length gown with a floral accented neckline, and designer Bridgett Pisirai presented a sleekly tailored animal print heavy collection.

In addition to the afore-mentioned names, up and coming talents like Geraldine Tseriwa, Tariro Muza, Crystelle Natasha Khan, Ashley Mapara and Pamellah Mashanda also displayed their creations at the soiree. (PB)
