The Turkish brand Önder Özkan showcased a Mediterranean patterns-inspired Spring/Summer 2015 range on the third day of ongoing Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Istanbul.

Drawing inspiration from the designer’s own grandmother’s feathered wedding tiara, the sporty collection included an array of ribbon-detailed knitted mesh and knitwear pieces.

Fashion brand Maid In Love drew inspiration from the fun-filled era of 1980s for its Don’t K My J line. Replete with handcrafted beading details, candy coloured hues, digital prints and exaggerated silhouettes, the retro line, which included pieces like beachwear, sporty-themed track pants, as well as 1980’s signature sub-culture slogans and cartoon characters emblazoned sweatshirts, was made from a mix of both traditional and modern 3-D fabrics.

The young designer label Benan Bal opted to show a basketball-inspired line with pieces like slim fit shirts, pants with elasticised ankles, tracksuit bottoms and coloured T-shirts while designer Ayse Deniz Tiller chose to feature a fragrant line of summery beachwear ensembles. (PB)
