The international sportswear manufacturer Nike has roped in the Brazilian fashion designer Pedro Lourenço to create a new line of Spring/Summer 2015 training apparel for women.

Inspired by the modern athletic women’s emerging desire for luxury in sport performance gear, the line can be easily worn both as workout gear and stylish everyday wear.

Replete with innovative materials and detailing, the Nike x Pedro Lourenço Collection features a variety of feminine yet practical pieces that can be smartly layered to achieve looks that are appropriate for streets and the gymnasiums.

The range features a 1960’s couture shape inspired body hugging Embossed Woven Women’s Jacket. Made using a crocodile pattern embossed sweat-wicking Dri-FIT mesh material, the outerwear features a bonded, reverse-coil zipper and Dri-FIT jersey inner cuffs attached to the sleeves.

Incorporated with adjustable straps, removable cups and racerback detailing, the Indy Women’s Bra features Dri-FIT jersey fabrics in front and side panels along with a soft feeling layer of breathable mesh on the back.

The shiny finished, durable, water-repellent Lightweight Woven Women’s Jacket is tailored from a woven ripstop material. The ensemble is enhanced with a Dri-FIT stretch satin hood and front panel, laser perforated back and underarms, zipper pockets, a modern scoop hem and bonded seams.

The form fitting Mesh Long-Sleeve Crew is a combination of lightweight and breathable finely-knit power mesh on top and sweat-wicking Dri-FIT jersey materials on the lower body and sleeves. The piece also showcases gradient flocking on the neckline, inner hemline, thumbholes and cuffs.

The range also features a loose-fit mesh tank with racerback and wide armhole details, a performance-enhancing four-way spandex pant, a pair of stretch woven fabric crafted shorts with a flat elastic waistband and black hem, as well as a skirted tights and a croc embossed leggings.

The line will be available globally from November 13, 2014 onwards at NikeLab and NikeLab DSM locations in New York, Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Milan, Paris, Stockholm, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Rio and online through nike.com/nikelab.

Raised in Sao Paulo, Pedro Lourenço is known for his couture-like sensibility and meticulous attention to detail.

Founded in 1964, based near Beaverton, Oregon, Nike specializes in the designing, marketing and distributing of a wide variety of athletic footwear, apparels, equipment and accessories meant for an expansive range of sports and fitness activities. (PB)
