More than 27 young and established designers, alongside various clothing and accessories brands and talented design students from four fashion schools have showcased their latest Spring/Summer 2015 collections at the just held 35th instalment of Portugal Fashion.

Held in parts in Lisbon and Porto cities, the four-day event staged some 35 fashion shows from designers like Luís Onofre, Diogo Miranda, Carlos Gil, Fátima Lopes, Katty Xiomara and Luís Buchinho alongside an army of Portuguese brands including Dielmar, Tm Collection, Lion of Porches and Vicri.

The soiree was opened by two young designers named HIBU (who showcased a natural palette based collection CRU) and Joao Melo Costa who highlighted a range replete with floral organza, rigid fabrics and multi-coloured stripes adorned pieces.

The Storytailors brand featured gauze and pleated fabrics heavy range for both men and women while Alves/Goncalves opted to display an elegant womenswear collection featuring polka dots and spots on fine silk fabrics.

Designer Teresa Martins displayed a rural-inspired line created in multiple natural colours and checked prints whereas fashion talent Susana Bettencourt presented a geometric prints decorated macramé made collection.

Designer Nuno Baltazar showcased his first-ever collection at the Portuguese event. Inspired by director Jean-Luc Godard’s movie ‘Le Mépris’, the range showed an array of highly feminine and sophisticated, silk and satin crafted, fuchsia, red and sky blue colours based ensembles which were enhanced with black and white stripes.

Miguel Viera demonstrated his sense of relaxed elegance with a beautiful summer collection that was both minimalist and conceptual. In this collection he used shades such as white and sky blue, with piqué fabrics and jacquard, all aimed at both men and women. (PB)
