The Indian fashion designer and couturier Varun Bahl will judge and mentor some of the design participants from the second season of Jabong Online Fashion Week (JOFW), a young talent-based show that serves as a platform to showcase the works of new emerging names from the fashion design and related industries.

The New Delhi-based designer will bring his fashion expertise on board alongside an esteemed jury of experts from different fields including Nandini Bhalla, Noyonika Chatterjee, Vidya Tikari, Lubna Adams and Colston Julian.

Talking about his new role at JOFW, the couturier said, “Online medium is the key today so obviously with the Jabong Online Fashion Week they’re heading towards the right direction. I find this interesting as it gives a genuine opportunity for fresh talent from the industry to be discovered, groomed and mentored by experts from the different domains of the world of fashion.”

Apart from fashion design, the show will also highlight and hone the skills of several up and coming talents, selected from a nationwide hunt, specializing in various genres such as modelling, hair styling, make up and fashion photography.

While commenting on JOFW, the event organizer Jabong.com’s MD and founder Praveen Sinha stated, “With Jabong Online Fashion Week, we aspire to represent the fashion industry and provide the fraternity an online platform to grow. JOFW is aimed at gathering best of talent and fashion aficionados giving them an opportunity to showcase their talent with the guidance of stalwarts of the industry. Jabong has always strived to provide the customers and industry, with the best of talent and services, and JOFW is one such initiative by the brand.”

The second edition was launched by Indian actress and former Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen. The 39-year-old beauty talked about her association with JOFW in a statement, “Online Shopping is the buzzword these days, and the shift has been evidently drastic from offline to online. Bearing in mind from where this industry started to where it has gone now, it’s a pleasure for me to launch Jabong Online Fashion Week! JOFW is a platform that will not only nurture young talent but also hone their skills with a thorough guidance from influencers of the industry. I would like to wish all the very best to all the participants.”

The second season has been organized in partnership with Times Now, Dorothy Perkins, Microsoft, Cosmopolitan, PayU Money, Taxi For Sure and Chic-a-thon.

In its continuous endeavour to promote and establish new names, the event’s inaugural season brought models Ritu Chauhan De and Ravi Goswami along with fashion designer Sidharth K Kakkar to spotlight. Kakkar has styled and designed outfits for celebs like Kapil Sharma, Gauhar Khan, Rajeev Khandelwal and so on.
