Shamaeel Ansari launches first retail store in Karachi

The Pakistani fashion designer Shamaeel Ansari has launched her first-ever retail outlet titled House of Shamaeel in Karachi, Pakistan.
The store will feature cotton, evening and semi-formal ready-to-wear clothing collections along with order-based bridal and couture lines from the designer.
Designed by architect Ali Asghar Alvi, the outlet is divided into thematic dressing rooms named after influential sub-continental women who are associated with luxury, exclusivity and opulence such as Noor Jehan, Hoorum Sultan and Mumtaz Mehal.
Speaking about her new store launch, the designer and CEO of the brand Shamaeel Ansari said, “I am very excited and enthusiastic about the plans we have for the outlet. This outlet, House of Shamaeel Ansari, will be my way of saying ‘thank you’ for 27 years of love and support to my customer, to the industry, and above all to all fashionistas.”
A former chairperson of Fashion Pakistan Council (FPC), Ansari, who started her design career in 1987, is known for her signature jewel tone jackets, opulent over coats, slim pants and elegantly cut shifts made from a majestic mélange of threads, appliqué, sequins, colours and prints. Apart from her domestic success, the designer has also earned international acclaim through her boutiques in India and Dubai. (PB)
