Anamika Khanna to show at LFW SR 2015's grand finale

Indian designer Anamika Khanna will grace the upcoming Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2015’s grand finale with a fresh collection inspired by the title sponsor cosmetic brand’s trend forecasts for the season.
The Bollywood stylist will create pieces on a fresh palette of colours and stunning silhouettes entirely based on the beauty care brand’s fashion interpretations.
Speaking about her new show, the self-taught design talent says, “I am thrilled to be part of such a milestone and look forward to present my collection at the grand finale of the most sought after event in the Indian fashion scene.”
“The Lakmé beauty statement yet again is very unique and I’m excited to begin working on my collection inspired by the Lakmé statement of the season,” she adds.
Purnima Lamba, head of innovation at Lakmé, also spoke about the designer in a statement, “As we celebrate our 15th year in association with the leading fashion week in India, we are privileged to collaborate with Anamika Khanna to bring alive Lakmé’s fashion statement for summer 2015.”
“Anamika’s craftsmanship lends itself seamlessly to this summer’s trend forecast by Lakmé. We look forward to unveiling the new product collection inspired by Lakmé’s fashion forecast shortly,” she says.
According to a press statement from the organizers, the designer’s new pieces will be a fusion of signature Indian aesthetics and contemporary edgy cuts.
In addition to her exquisite garment displays, the film costumer will also work with Lakmé makeup experts to create looks that promise to redefine summer trends across the country.
The upcoming edition of Lakmé Fashion Week is due to take place from March 20th to 24th, 2015 at Palladium Hotel, Mumbai. The bi-annual event is jointly organized by Indian beauty expert Lakmé and IMG Reliance, the global leader in sports and entertainment event marketing and management.
Born in Delhi, based in Kolkata, Khanna has been recognized with Kingfisher Award for the fashion designer of the year in 2004. She is known for her diverse style statements flawlessly interwoven with traditional Indian and modern methods. (PB)
